The State of New Jersey is working to lessen the financial impact of COVID-19 on residents who are struggling to pay their mortgage and bills. On March 28th, Governor Murphy announced that Citigroup, JP Morgan Chase, US Bank, Wells Fargo, and Bank of America, in addition to over 40 other federal and state-chartered banks, credit unions, and servicers have committed to providing relief for consumers and homeowners in New Jersey.

A Sound Beach couple fighting foreclosure for nearly 10 years “can finally close that chapter of their lives” now that their lender has missed court deadlines to continue the legal battle, the couple’s lawyer said Tuesday.
Supreme Court ruled last month that the lender missed the six-year statute of limitations to foreclose on their home.
In a closely watched court case, a Sound Beach couple’s mortgage lender has until Friday to decide whether to try to take its foreclosure lawsuit to the state’s highest court or accept that it missed the six-year deadline to take back the couple’s home.
